Birth
Caroline Randall, daughter of William Randall and Sarah Gooding, was born January 31, 1861 after the family moved to Elmira from Wentworth County. She was not listed in the 1861 census which was taken about two weeks earlier on January 14, 1861. The date comes from the 1901 census when she and her husband lived in Elmira. Caroline's death record says that she was born one year earlier, on January 31, 1860, which would make her non-appearance in the 1861 census even more puzzling.Marriage
Carrie married George Cathrea in Elmira on January 7, 1880. The date comes from the Ontario Archive for 1880, reference #011-072. We also know that a son, George William Cathrea was born on May 31, 1882 and that the family was living in Elmira for both the 1891 1901, and 1911 censuses and for years after that.
